Description
This was a comission.
Heavy-grade cow leather, burned with my original sketch of a flying dragon. Dyed with "desert tan" color Eco-Flo dye. Celtic dragon cabochon added to use as an anchor piece to hold the book closed. Inside is an approx. 6x9" blank hardcover journal, ready to be filled with sketches or whatnot.
I'm actually not terribly pleased with how well it turned out- the Eco-Flo dye, for example, is like trying to dye leather with a cup of pudding, it's that thick. The woodgrain-like dye pattern is neat, but I do prefer the solid, heavy color I can get with other dye brands. Still, it's gotten me really REALLY interested in making a book for myself, so I'm currently looking into a few methods I can make the pages removeable/refillable, without just covering a three-ring binder, which is kinda cheesy I think.
